Tantris was the Companion of Herald Kris. Kris called him "Featherfoot" and Tantris referred to Kris as his little brother. He helped Kris and Rolan guard Talia when her Gift went rogue, and helped Kris re-train her.
There is some speculation that he may be the reincarnation of Herald Tantras, who was a prominent Herald in the reign of King Randale.
He was killed by arrows during Kris and Talia's attempt to escape Ancar's forces in the royal palace of Hardorn.
