The Silver Gryphons were founded by General Judeth, and originally made up of the remnants of the army that escaped the Cataclysm with Clan k'Leshya. A paramilitary organization, they acted as protectors and scouts as the refugees marched toward the sea. After the settlement of White Gryphon was built, the Silvers took on the roles of police, watchmen and guards.
The Silvers did not have a regular uniform. Judeth had been concerned that it might remind people too much of the Mage Wars they had just survived. Instead Silvers were identified by a silver gryphon badge worn on their tunics or hung around the necks of the gryphons.
Members of the Silver Gryphons include:
- General Judeth, the first commander
- Aubri, Judeth's Co-Commander
In the series Edit
The Silver Gryphons appear in the following works:
In the short story "In Name Only" by Kristin Schwengel, Tempest, Anthologies, Volume 10, a guard of silver gryphons accompanies a Haighlei Empire diplomatic party sent to reaffirm a treaty with the Khyrsmi (of the Kaled'a'in). After the Haighleigh party is divided, only one small silver gryphon and her orphaned partner remain to continue with the delegates and are present at negotiations to discover traitors.
