Lynnell was the Bard who rescued young Stefen from the streets. She heard him singing on a street corner, and knew he had a strong Bardic Gift. She suspected he might have the musicianship and creativity gifts as well. After ascertaining that Berte, the old woman that accompanied him, was no kind of relative, she waited her chance.
When Berte fell asleep, Stef snuck out with a few coppers to buy soup and bread. Lynnell had invoked Bardic Immunity, and with two Guardsmen to help her, plucked Stef right off the street. Not being particularly good with children Lynnell didn't bother to explain, she only told him that he now belonged to Valdemar. Stef thought Lynnell was a procurer, and that Berte had sold him to some man named Valdemar. It took Medren some time to convince him otherwise, once Stef reached the Bardic Collegium.
Lynnell was described as tall and "sweet-smelling."[1] She was also extremely embarrassed when she figured out exactly what Stefen thought he'd been purchased for.
