Loschal was mayor of Trevendale when he was appointed to Selenay's Council following Ancar's defeat at the conclusion of Arrow's Fall. His appointment was approved by Elspeth, who held full regency powers in Selenay's absence. It was felt that his age would help balance out the youth of Lord Jelthan, who was appointed at the same time. Loschal took the seat as Speaker of the North.
