Loren was a Commander in Urtho's armies during the Mage Wars. He is described as having a "bricklike face and body."[1] He was neither very good, nor very bad at deploying gryphons, so he never stood out in Skandranon's memory until he asked Urtho to reward Zhaneel for taking out a patrol of three makaar by herself.[1]
