Liam was a young ribbon-peddler in the carnival Elspeth and her group joined to sneak into Hardorn. He was caught alone one night by a group of Ancar's Elite Guard who badly brutalized him before Firesong managed to knock out all the soldiers with magic.
With help from Gerdo, Sara and Firesong, Liam eventually recovered. The attack was a tremendous shock to the sheltered Firesong, who learned true empathy and compassion from the experience.
