According to the map images in The Valdemar Companion, Velvar is bordered to the north by Jkatha, east by Seejay (south-sector), Rodina (north-sector), to the southeast by Acabarrin, and entirely surrounds in the southeastern section of Velvar, the small kingdom of Crane. The northwestern border of Velvar is part of the crater-bowl of the Dhorisha Plains, bordered southwest and to the west by open unclaimed wilderness. In the southern reaches of Velvar there is also coastline, wherein the coastal border opens out onto the Bitter Sea.
The capital of Velvar is Ashuel.
